Confirmed: Undefeated bantamweights Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt set to throw down in May

May’s UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas will be headlined by a bantamweight bout between undefeated 135-pound fighters Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt.

The UFC announced the fight during the UFC Brisbane event.

Cody Garbrandt (8-0 MMA) is coming off a first-round TKO victory over last minute replacement Augusto Mendes. The Team Alpha Male product also holds octagon victories over Marcus Brimage and Henry Briones.

Meanwhile, Thomas Almeida (20-0 MMA) has put together a perfect 4-0 record inside the UFC octagon. Almeida’s most recent appearance came in November when he knocked out Anthony Birchak. Three of Thomas’ four UFC wins have resulted in “performance bonuses”.

The co-main event for May’s UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas features former bantamweight title holder Renan Barao taking on the hard hitting Jeremy Stephens. at featherweight.
