UFC welterweight standout Colby Covington will get his shot at promotional gold at next month’s UFC 224 event in Brazil when he squares off with former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC’s interim welterweight championship.

Covington, who is travelling to Brooklyn for this week’s UFC press conference, shared his thought’s on today’s wild Conor McGregor “bus attack” incident at the Barclay’s Center.

“If that fugitive @TheNotoriousMMA is still on the lam when wheels touchdown in JFK I’ll bring in that coked up leprechaun myself! #KingColbyTheBountyHunter #ufc223 #nerdbash2018 – at JetBlue Airways Terminal” – Colby Covington

“Chaos” also took the opportunity to throw shade at McGregor’s teammate Artem Lobov. ‘The Russian Hammer’ was expected to face Alex Caceres at Saturday night’s event but was pulled from the card following his involvement in the aforementioned “bus attack”.

“Shout out to @RusHammerMMA for finally finding a way to not lose a @ufc fight. #ufc223 #nerdbash2018” – Colby Covington

In total, today’s violent outburst at the Barclay’s Center forced three fights to be cancelled from this weekend’s UFC 223 event in Brooklyn.

Conor McGregor, who will be stripped of his UFC lightweight title when the first strike is thrown between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway this weekend, has since been taken in to custody by the NYPD.

“Mystic Mac” is likely to face assault or battery charges for his actions, as well as a plethora of lawsuits.
