UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington has denied that be broke his jaw during his title match against Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 245. There has been plenty of speculation that Covington broke his jaw fairly early against Usman and that he continued to fight with it up until the finish late in the fifth round. After losing the fight, Covington was criticized for running backstage and not waiting for the official result to be read, but he also got a pass due to breaking his jaw.

A new video showing UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington playing pickup basketball seems to show that his recently broken jaw is healing up nicely. Covington suffered a jaw fracture during his epic welterweight title fight against champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 245, which he lost via fifth-round TKO. After the fight, Covington ran out of the Octagon backstage and was criticized by fans, media and fellow fighters online for doing so.

Colby Covington is looking to get back into the Octagon in the early part of 2020. Covington is coming off a UFC 245 TKO loss to Kamaru Usman where he also broke his jaw. Yet, some reports were uncertain if his jaw was really broken, but American Top Team owner, Dan Lambert, confirms it was fractured.
