VIDEO | Colby Covington talks Daniel Cormier’s big win, ‘He just passed me up for No. 1 pound-4-pound’

“[Daniel Cormier] is the greatest fighter of all time, no doubt about it. He’s undefeated in his career. His losses that he supposedly had, that the fans think he had to Jon Jones…we all know Jon Jones, you know? Huge asterisks.

You can’t put him in the GOAT discussion when all this went along. You don’t see DC hitting a pregnant lady at an intersection running off for the foothills. You don’t see him with two girls on the back of his car and his family’s at home [while] he’s wrecking his Bentley.

You don’t see [DC] doing those kinds of things, you don’t see him failing steroid tests and doing cocaine. So I definitely think DC earned GOAT status this weekend. He just passed me up for No. 1 pound-4-pound and hopefully, we can get on the same card together.”

UFC light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier made history this past Saturday night by becoming a two-division champion when he dethroned the heavyweight king, Stipe Miocic with a first-round knockout.

Because of this amazing victory, it has pushed Cormier right to the top of the GOAT discussions among fans and fighters alike. One of which being the often outspoken current interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington.

A big hindrance for most when it comes to ranking Cormier among the very best in MMA history has been that of his rivalry with Jon Jones.

Jones is the only man to have ever defeated Cormier in his 23 fight career and because of Jones’ own self-inflicted actions, he dropped the light heavyweight crown.

But now with that same crown once held by Jones and the heavyweight title to top it, Cormier stands alone in the legendary ranks of only five other men to have ever held titles in two different UFC weight classes.
