Conor McGregor: Anyone can get it in any ruleset “I don’t give a f**k”
UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is no stranger to controversy, and ahead of his historic boxing match with Floyd Mayweather on August 26th, no one appears to be safe from McGregor’s trash talk.
The Irish champ took to Instagram this week to send a message to anyone and everyone who looks to oppose him:
Conor McGregor of course explained in the past that by accepting a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, he would get to focus on one discipline, allowing himself to progress at a fast rate by focusing on one single discipline. That interview took place nearly a year ago, before McGregor became the 2-division UFC champion, and was officially set to fight Mayweather.
“If I only had to focus on boxing, hell, I’d be neck and neck with Floyd right now. I’m in the game of spinning plates. I’m spinning a boxing plate. I’m spinning a taekwondo plate. I’m spinning a jiujitsu plate. I’m spinning a freestyle wrestling plate. I’m spinning a karate plate. There are so many spinning plates in this game. If I was to put all of them down and have one boxing plate spinning, it would be like a load off my shoulders.”
“Many people who practice in only one discipline of fighting are lying to themselves,” McGregor said. “You can’t fight fully. It’s limited. It’s not the full circle. You’re afraid of everything else. You’re just doing this one single thing. But we practice in everything.”
