Conor McGregor claimed he would KO Eddie Alvarez nearly four years ago
If all goes according to Conor McGregor’s plans at UFC 205 on November 12, “Mystic Mac” will surely be buzzing on this one.
On January 13, 2013, “The Notorious” tweeted “@arielhelwani @danawhite I’D STOP EDDIE ALVAREZ IN THE 1st ROUND, I’D STOP JIM MILLER IN THE 1st ROUND, I’D STOP CLAY GUIDA IN THE 1st ROUND”

Now, nearly four years later, McGregor will get his chance to take the first opponent out in that tweet in his attempt to become the first UFC fighter to ever hold two UFC division’s titles simultaneously. McGregor will have a tough task ahead of him with the explosive Eddie Alvarez who is looking to rise his stock with a win over one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts.
McGregor again said during the UFC 205 press conference that he predicts he will KO Alvarez in the first round in New York’s Madison Square Garden.
McGregor has had an eerie knack for predicting the outcome of his fights. Perhaps the most mysterious prevision was in his UFC featherweight title fight against Jose Aldo at UFC 194 in November last year.
“He won’t be there, I just don’t think he will be there,” McGregor said to BT Sports’s Gareth A Davies prior to the bout with Aldo. “He didn’t show up last time. We’ll see. History, eye contact, his gym, training approach, I just think with all those things combined he can’t make it to the contest. But, if he shows up, I feel I will KO him inside one. If he makes that walk, I feel every single movement I make will get an overreaction out of him because he is emotionally invested in it. There is too much in it for him. The whole country of Brazil. It’s all piling on him. I feel he will react a million times. That’s how I feel the fight playing out. I see him overreacting, overextending and then being knocked out unconscious.”
McGregor did just that as Aldo came in for a punch and hit the Brazilian with a flush counter that floored him and followed up with hammer fists to end the fight.
Although McGregor has not predicted all of his fights correctly, there definitely seems to be something mystic about Conor McGregor.
