Conor McGregor done being humble? Says he would have won if it wasn’t for late opponent change

The world has seen a new side to Conor McGregor following his first loss in the UFC at the hands of UFC veteran Nate Diaz. McGregor was very humble in his interviews after the fight and said that he was “humble in victory or defeat.”

The Notorious one

According to Bloody Elbow, McGregor told ESPN’s Todd Grisham that he would still be undefeated in the UFC, and would be a two-weight UFC champion.

“If the fight was what it was supposed to be (Rafael dos Anjos), I would have come out victorious,” McGregor said. “It is what it is.”

McGregor said the punches he hit Nate with would have put down a lighter opponent.

“They fall, 100 percent. Nate is a completely different fighter. ”

However, Nate Diaz usually fights at lightweight.

Rafael dos Anjos appeared on the MMA Hour on Monday and made a point about McGregor and Diaz fighting at 170 (transcribed by MMA Fighting).

“A lot of people say, ‘ah, Conor went up two weight divisions.’ No. Nate Diaz, he’s a 155-pound fighter. He’s a lightweight,” dos Anjos added. “And [McGregor] is saying that, ‘I went up two weight divisions.’ No, he did not fight Robbie Lawler. He did not fight Johny Hendricks. He fought Nate Diaz, which is 155. … I just think Conor doesn’t deserve to fight for this, for the 155 belt. He just got smashed by the No. 5 ranked (fighter).”
