Conor McGregor gives terms for potential Floyd Mayweather fight

The war of words continues between two division UFC champion Conor McGregor, and undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather. Following McGregor’s UFC 205 scrap with Eddie Alvarez, which saw McGregor score a flawless 2nd round TKO win to claim the lightweight championship, talks of McGregor having a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather began to heat up once again.

Several months ago, McGregor was pulled from his UFC 200 headlining scrap with Nate Diaz, which led to several weeks of talks of a McGregor vs. Mayweather boxing match, with both men verbally agreeing to the fight. Talks progressed to the point that Fox Sports 1 host Colin Cowherd even reported the date for the potential bout.

Following McGregor’s win over Alvarez, at what appears to be McGregor’s afterparty, he took shots at Mayweather. Interestingly enough, if this was indeed McGregor’s afterparty, that would mean McGregor taunted Mayweather before Mayweather called himself an elephant, and McGregor an ant while discussing the comparison of the two.

McGregor hopped on the mic & stated:

“Floyd’s not ready for this. Much respect to Floyd, he’s a solid businessman, what he has been able to do, he is a fucking animal. But as far as real fighting, as far as true real unarmed combat, Floyd don’t want none of this. He does not want none of this. People have asked him, he wants it in the boxing rules. He wants a boxing match, he doesn’t want a fight. Give Floyd a shout, tell him I’m coming. I want $100 million cash to fight you in the boxing rules because he’s afraid of a real fight.”

Given how Mayweather reacted when a reporter asked him if McGregor was the ‘Mayweather’ of Boxing, this newly released footage of McGregor giving a speech about Mayweather, and making his demands for a potential fight, likely won’t sit too well with the undefeated prizefighter.

McGregor of course has stated following his win over Alvarez that given the fact he has a newborn daughter on the way, he would like equity in the UFC if the new UFC owners would like to see him continue to fight in the Octagon.
