Current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has confirmed that he will be making a major announcement following his UFC 205 lightweight title fight with Eddie Alvarez this November in New York.

McGregor has remained tight-lipped about the announcement and recently told MMAJunkie that he will not be spilling the beans until his business with Eddie Alvarez is finished on November 12:

“Buy the pay-per-view and stay tuned,” McGregor told MMAjunkie. “Don’t blink. It’s going to be big.”

UFC president Dana White also recently commented about McGregor’s mystery announcement telling the following to WFAN’s “Outside The Cage” podcast.

“There are… how can I say this? There are other circumstances involved in this that will be played out after the fight,” White stated. “It’s something completely out of left field but it’s Conor’s business, it’s not mine, and I’ll let Conor announce it when he’s ready to.”

Conor McGregor was most recently seen in action in the headliner of August’s UFC 202 event in Las Vegas. “Mystic Mac” squared off with rival Nate Diaz for a second time that evening in Sin City and after a thrilling five-round war was awarded a majority decision victory from the judges.

The brash Irish superstar has gone 8-1 while fighting under the UFC banner, scoring finishes in six of those eight victories.

Conor’s UFC 205 opponent, UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, is currently riding a three-fight win streak. Alvarez’s latest effort saw him dethrone former UFC lightweight kingpin Rafael dos Anjos this past July in Las Vegas.

Prior to the title-earning victory over “RDA”, Alvarez had picked up back-to-back split decision victories over Gilbert Melendez and Anthony “Showtime” Pettis respectively.

UFC 205 takes place November 12 live from Madison Square Garden in New York.

The historic event features three title fights and a six-bout main card.
