Conor McGregor reacts to $150,000 fine from NSAC
On Monday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission ruled a stiff penalty on Conor McGregor for his involvement in the water bottle fiasco at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference at the MGM Grand. The incident involved Team McGregor and Team Nate Diaz in an object-throwing war with press getting caught in the middle of it all.
“The Notorious” was fined five percent of his disclosed salary for the main event fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 202. Given that the brash Irishman earned a UFC record-setting disclosed pay of $3 million dollars, the fine equated to a whopping $150,000. In addition to the six-figure fine, Mcgregor was also ordered to 50 hours of community service and will have to participate in an “anti-bullying campaign for the commission,” according to a report from MMA Fighting.
McGregor also made headlines on Monday after a report surfaced from MMA insider @TalkMMA that the UFC featherweight champion was allegedly knocked out during a recent training session with a possibly broken nose. “The Notorious” took to twitter to address his fine but has yet to comment on the report of his training incident and health.
McGregor tweeted on Monday following the NSAC hearing, “I get fined more than these bums get paid.”
@TheNotoriousMMA lmfao.

With a report from Big Brand Boys estimating that McGregor made $15 million for his fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 202, McGregor’s tweet reacting to his fine almost sounds like he is proud of the hefty financial penalty. It surely doesn’t look as if “The Notorious” has a problem with paying the amount.
Nate Diaz will have his hearing with the NSAC at a later date. If given the same penalty of five percent of his disclosed pay like McGregor, Diaz’s fine would equate to $100,000 for his $2 million in disclosed pay earned for UFC 202.
