Conor McGregor reportedly offered $2 million to fight alongside Fedor Emelianenko
Recently news broke that Fedor Emelianenko would be making his return to MMA once again on June 17th under the Fight Nights Global banner in Russia to fight Fabio Maldonado.
Surprisingly, the promotion has now offered Conor McGregor $2 million to fight at the event as well. This comes after McGregor was pulled from UFC 200 for refusing to fulfill his media obligations for the event.
BloodyElbow writer Karim Zidan relayed the the news regarding the $2,000,000 offered McGregor received from Russian MMA journalist Alexey Safonov.
While we don’t know the details of McGregor’s contract with the UFC, it is likely that the featherweight champ is signed to a multi-fight deal, and will be unable to accept the offer from Fight Nights Global even if he wanted to.
In addition, if McGregor were able to accept the offer, he would likely be forced to vacate his featherweight championship if he took the deal.
