Conor McGregor to Star in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

By Tom Taylor - September 2, 2016

In the main event of UFC 202, Conor McGregor defeated Nate Diaz, avenging an early 2016 loss to the same man, and reminding the world just how dangerous of a fighter he is in the process.

Of course, McGregor is far more than a talented combatant. He’s also an astute businessman, as evidenced by his many record-breaking paydays and pay-per-view successes. Today, McGregor once again flaunted his business savvy, announcing that he’d signed on to star in the latest release in the Call of Duty video game franchise, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

This news was first revealed by Activision, via McGregor’s website TheMacLife.  McGregor later confirmed the deal himself on Twitter.

In Call of Duty, McGregor has partnered with one of the most successful video game franchises ever. As his website explains, last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 raked in $550 million in just three days. That game’s predecessor, Black Ops 2, was even more successful, generating $500 million in just 24 hours. As of now, there’s no word on how much the Irish superstar is being paid for his role in this game–but we’re guessing he’ll be making a nice chunk of change.

What do you think about McGregor’s role in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare? Will you be buying the game? Sound off, PENN Nation!
