Conor McGregor taunts Floyd Mayweather, still open to fight
Prior to the UFC 199, where it was announced that Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz would have their highly anticipated rematch at UFC 202 on August 20th, rumors of Conor McGregor stepping into the boxing ring for a boxing match with boxing icon Floyd Mayweather were the talk of the MMA community.
While that fight was never made official, reports were flying around regarding dates and locations for the potential fight.
With less than a week to go until McGregor and Diaz have their highly anticipated rematch, McGregor was asked about a potential boxing match with Mayweather by Fox Sports, to which he responded:
“Right now I have Floyd running around the Showtime offices gathering my money,” McGregor said. “That’s what he’s doing.
“If you want to fight me, we can fight. If you need a specific rule set to protect you from a true fight, that’s no problem. Just make sure that money is there. As long as that money is there, we can fight under your safety net of rules. But me, I don’t need rules. I am the (expletive) rule,”
