Report | Conor McGregor’s bail has been set, and he’ll be allowed to return to Ireland

Hours after he went berserk in the Barclay’s Center, throwing a dolly through the window of the UFC 223 bus and injuring several of his peers, UFC lightweight champ (?) Conor McGregor turned himself in to the police. After spending the night in custody, McGregor was hit with a bevy of charges, including a felony mischief charge and a misdemeanor assault charge.

This afternoon, McGregor appeared in court. Despite the scale of his Thursday afternoon rampage, he will not be detained. The Irishman’s bail has been set at $50,000. He will also be allowed to return home to Ireland, as his passport will not be confiscated. McGregor’s friend, Cian Cowley has had his bail set at $25.

As part of McGregor’s bail package he will be allowed to fly back home to Ireland. They are not seizing his passport. Court date not set just yet.

Court is back in session. And they are bringing up petty crimes first, yet there is a courtroom full of people watching these people get arraigned.

Conor McGregor’s rampage in Brooklyn resulted in the cancellation of three fights.

The first bout to go was Artem Lobov’s undercard scrap with Alex Caceres. Lobov was removed from the fight for his role in the chaos at the host venue, and no replacement opponent was sought for Caceres.

Next, we learned that Michael Chiesa had been forced out of his main card scrap with former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, having sustained several facial lacerations when McGregor broke the window of a fighter transport bus with a hand trolley.

Lastly, former UFC flyweight title challenger Ray Borg was forced out of his anticipated scrap with Brandon Moreno, as he began to have vision problems that are suspected to have been caused by glass debris in his eyes.
