Conor McGregor’s coach confirms featherweight champ’s retirement

Early Tuesday morning UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor made headlines as he announced his retirement from MMA ahead of his UFC 200 welterweight scrap against Nate Diaz.

While the retirement Tweet was initially regarded as a ‘troll-job’ by many, multiple sources confirmed that McGregor was serious about retiring according to Ariel Helwani.

This led to more speculation regarding the strange situation while fans waited on more info from McGregor and his team. Now, McGregor’s longtime head coach John Kavanagh has seemingly confirmed the news of McGregor’s retirement.

McGregor is currently gearing up for his UFC 200 rematch with Nate Diaz, who also announced his ‘retirement’ this morning after McGregor’s.
