UFC president Dana White was a recent guest on “ESPN Radio: Russillo & Kanell Today” where he announced that current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will return to the octagon at UFC 200 this July in Las Vegas. His words:

Conor McGregor in Octagon

“Yeah I was at his (Conor’s) house last night. He wants to fight again as soon as possible. He wants to jump back in there and he wants to fight again. We are working on who the opponent is going to be.”

He continued:

“You can’t make people fight. In this business, it has to burn. It has to be a desire inside you to fight. You know what I mean. Conor McGregor is a perfect example. This guy is going to turn around and fight at 200 (UFC 200) again. You know what I mean. You have to have the burning desire to fight. If you do not have it, you shouldn’t fight.”

McGregor is coming off his first career octagon defeat which occurred this past weekend in the main event of UFC 196 when he was submitted by Nate Diaz in a welterweight bout.

Conor will now return to the featherweight division to defend his title against Jose Aldo or Frankie Edgar.
