A “devastated” Conor McGregor sends love to his adopted hometown of Las Vegas
UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor was “devastated” after hearing of the massacre that left at least 59 people dead and hundreds injured in his adopted hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Irish superstar took to Instagram where he issued the following message sending love and prayers to the victims, families and everyone affected by the senseless act of violence.
“Absolutely devastated upon hearing the news in Las Vegas. A city with so much energy and life. A city of celebration and enjoyment. A city so close to my heart. I pray for all the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this senseless act of violence 🙏”
Conor McGregor was not the only mixed martial arts star to share their shock and support on social media, as a plethora of other fighters shared their voice.
“Mystic Mac” has a house in Las Vegas which has been dubbed the “Mac Mansion”.
McGregor was last seen in action this past August when he took his talents to the squared circle to faceoff with undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.
After a terrific opening four rounds, McGregor would eventually fatigue which allowed “Money” Mayweather took pick up a tenth-round TKO victory.
Conor McGregor is currently weighing his options for his next octagon appearance, but it would appear that a trilogy bout with Nate Diaz is the current best bet.
The Irishman defeated the “Stockton Slugger” in their most recent fight at UFC 202 via a controversial majority decision. Prior to that, Diaz had submitted McGregor in the second-round of their event headlining bout at UFC 196.
