On August 26th, UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor will look to make combat sports history and hand Floyd Mayweather his first professional boxing loss when the two square off at the T-Mobile arena.

Ahead of the fight, the combat sports community remains rather torn in their predictions for the fight. While Mayweather’s nearly perfect defense has seen him go 49-0 throughout the course of his professional career, many believe that McGregor’s precision combined with his incredible power will lead him to a victory.

Leading up to the fight, Mayweather’s coach Angelo Reyes believes that Mayweather will not only win the fight, but pick up his first KO/TKO win since 2011, when he picked up a 4th round KO win over Victor Ortiz in their welterweight title fight.

Reyes spoke to MMAJunkie Radio:

“Mayweather will knock him out in three (rounds) or less,” Reyes said. “Everybody thinks, ‘Oh, well, Floyd is just going to dance around.’ Not in this fight. And he doesn’t dance around. I don’t think he dances around anyway. You have to truly understand the craft of boxing to really understand what he does.”

“(McGregor) didn’t dominate Nate Diaz. … I’m just saying that he didn’t beat the heck out of Nate Diaz.”

McGregor’s coach, Owen Roddy, on the other hand, believes that McGregor will pick up a mid-fight finish over Mayweather, explaining that McGregor’s fight IQ combined with his power will lead to a finish of Mayweather.

As UFC President Dana White stated during his Q&A following the announcement of the fight, Conor McGregor certainly believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that he’s going to win the fight, leading his coach Owen Roddy to believe the same thing.

Tune in August 26th to what many are calling ‘the biggest fight in combat sports history’ to find out.
