John Kavanagh’s prediction for McGregor-Diaz trilogy fight
Going into Conor McGregor’s UFC 202 rematch with Nate Diaz, McGregor predicted that he would finish Diaz in the 4th round of their welterweight scrap. McGregor was unable to finish Diaz, however he dropped the Stockton fighter several times early on in the fight.
Immediately following the fight, McGregor stated that he would do a trilogy fight with Diaz, however it would be at lightweight, where both men were more comfortable.
While UFC President Dana White stated that a immediate rematch isn’t going to happen, many MMA fans would like to see a trilogy fight sooner rather than later.
With the fight expected to take place at lightweight, SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh believes it will be easier for McGregor to finish Diaz:
trilogy will be decided at 55. weight being a lot closer will make the finish easier to achieve. dont know when/where but will happen.
