Here Are The Betting Odds For Conor McGregor’s Next Opponent
Conor McGregor hasn’t stepped through the ropes of the boxing ring yet to box Floyd Mayweather and we’re already talking about his next fight. However, this is all par of the course when a guy like McGregor has a bout coming up. Paul Malignaggi managed to get wrapped up in the fight build-up and eventually made it known he intended on fighting McGregor. Artem Lobov was quick to silence that, of course it doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Back in the UFC, McGregor dropped hints that his next fight would be with Nate Diaz to finish out the trilogy. We know with Conor, nothing can be that simple though, so do the bookeepers. Betway just dropped the odds on who the Champ Champ could fight next.
“There may be no rematch clause, but it’s hard to imagine Mayweather not accepting a second fight with McGregor if the Irishman pulls off an upset on Saturday night. Mayweather has also dropped hints of stepping into the Octagon to fight McGregor, and we’re 5/2 for the Irishman to face off against Money for a second time in his next fight. A trilogy fight against old enemy Nate Diaz could be on the cards at 7/2, whilst Notorious is unlikely to entertain a fight with former sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi at 12/1.” – Alan Alger of Betway speaking to the Irish Mirror.
As of right now, Floyd Mayweather is listed as the most likely opponent for Conor McGregor next. Mayweather has gone on record promising this is his last fight, but he also said that last time he boxed. Tied for second is former rival Diaz and current #1 UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson, who has already been vocal about fighting the Irishman. Poor Jose Aldo is on the lower end of the spectrum. Conor McGregor has been sticking to his story that he’ll return to the UFC at the end of this year, but betting on that is as risky as any of the odds above.
