UFC superstar Conor McGregor says that he is “interested in running it back” with former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway. McGregor and Holloway fought back at UFC Fight Night 26 in August 2013 when both fighters were relatively new to the UFC. Although he was injured during the fight, McGregor was able to take Holloway down and control him on the mat for a rare grappling-based victory. To put it in perspective, McGregor has landed five takedowns in his UFC career. One of them came against Diego Brandao, and four of them came against Holloway.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor called Nate Diaz the toughest fighter he has ever fought against and said he anticipates a trilogy match. McGregor and Diaz previously fought twice in a pair of blockbuster fights in 2016. In March of that year, Diaz earned a massive upset win when he submitted McGregor on short notice at UFC 196. The two rivals ran it back at UFC 202 in August, and this time McGregor got the better of Diaz as he won a majority decision in a war. A trilogy fight between the two has always made sense, but up until now, the UFC has chosen not to pursue that fight.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather says he’s done boxing against other boxers, but he is open to doing exhibition fights with MMA fighters. Mayweather retired from boxing for good following his 10th-round TKO win over Conor McGregor in August 2017, a victory that propelled him to a pristine 50-0 mark in the boxing ring. In the three years since then, Mayweather has teased a comeback to the boxing ring, and most of the time he has name-dropped MMA fighters such as McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Jorge Masvidal, whoever the biggest star in MMA is at the time.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor is teasing a return to the Octagon at 155lbs, sharing with fans the phrase “lightweight division incoming.” McGregor is set to take on rival Dustin Poirier in a rematch at UFC 257, which is scheduled to take place on January 23 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The coach of McGregor, John Kavanagh, recently suggested that the rematch would take place at 170lbs. However, with former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov recently announcing his retirement from the sport, it changes things when it comes to weight.

After Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from the spot at UFC 254, many figured McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 2 would be for the vacant title. However, for Ferguson, he believes the Irishman just needs to get a win over a top-15 opponent in lightweight before he can even talk about being ranked in the top-five.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor and free agent heavyweight Fabricio Werdum traded shots on Twitter over the drug testing in Bellator. McGregor took to social media this week to criticize Bellator for its drug testing procedures. Unlike the UFC which has USADA in addition to the testing from athletic commissions, Bellator relies on the commissions of the jurisdictions where it holds events to provide its drug testing. McGregor believes that Bellator should step up its game and get to the UFC’s level when it comes to bringing in a third-party such as USADA to test.
