That big UFC 229 press conference we’ve been waiting for? Well, it’s finally official. The first press conference for the blockbuster card will go down on September 20, at 5p.m. ET inside Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Both UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and his challenger, former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor, will be in attendance.

The promotion announced this news in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s last fight occurred in April, when he captured the UFC lightweight title with a decision defeat of last-minute replacement opponent Al Iaquinta. The title was quietly stripped from the long absent Conor McGregor on the same night. With this title win over Al Iaquinta, Nurmagomedov improved to a flawless 26-0 overall — easily one of the most impressive records in MMA.

Conor McGregor has not competed since August of 2017, when he came up short in a headline-dominating boxing match with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. His most recent MMA bout occurred in November of 2016, when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to capture the UFC lightweight title. Because he still held the UFC featherweight title he swiped from Jose Aldo at the time, this made him the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes concurrently. The Irish superstar 21-3 overall.

UFC 229 will also feature a lightweight bout between former interim champion Tony Ferguson and former champion Anthony Pettis. Other highlights of the card include a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Alexander Volkov and a light heavyweight showdown between Dominick Reyes and Ovince Saint Preux.

UFC 229 goes down on October 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
