UFC President Dana White to meet with Conor McGregor in Liverpool
UFC President Dana White is going to sit down with Conor McGregor this weekend in Liverpool, England.
The UFC boss will be in town for the compelling, 12-fight UFC Liverpool card. Once that card is in the books, he plans to direct his focus to McGregor.
While McGregor is currently neck-deep in a complicated legal situation stemming from his infamous rampage in Brooklyn, during which two UFC 223 fighters got hurt, that’s apparently not going to be a topic of conversation when White sits down with him. Instead, they’ll discuss McGregor’s future in fighting.
“We’re going to sit down and talk about his future and what’s next,” White told ESPN this week (via MMA Fighting).
“I have nothing to do with the legal issues, he’ll need to figure that out on his own,” he added.
“Obviously, he has to deal with [court date in Brooklyn] in June. I’m flying to Liverpool this weekend for a fight there, and he and I are going to meet in Liverpool.”
Conor McGregor has not fought since August of 2017, when he came up short in a headline-dominating boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. If we’re talking about MMA bouts, it’s been even longer since the Irishman has competed, as he has not stepped into the cage since he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to capture the UFC lightweight title in November of 2016. That said, the Irish star and his team are always giving us cause for optimism surrounding his potential return to the cage.
Do you think we’ll ever see Conor McGregor fight again?
