When the pair came face to face on-stage in front of the thousands of fans in New York, tensions were at an all-time high as UFC President Dana White and a team of security guards were on hand to make sure things didn’t get too out of control. As can be expected however, things were heated.
With the pair set to step into the Octagon tomorrow night with the lightweight title on the line, only time will tell if McGregor will be able to make UFC history and claim the lightweight championship, making history as the first ever simultaneous two-division UFC champion, or if Alvarez will be able to send McGregor back to featherweight as he makes his first successful title defense.
Today’s staredown was certainly much more intense than Thursday’s following the completion of the UFC 205 press conference. While things between McGregor and Alvarez were extremely heated during the press conference, when the two men came face to face at the end of the press conference they kept their distance despite the tensions between them.
When the two men step into the Octagon tomorrow night with the lightweight title on the line, who do you think will leave The Empire State with the UFC lightweight championship? Give us your predictions below PENN Nation!
