Oh, how things have changed in just three years.
Exactly three years ago today, the current UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor made his UFC debut against Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel TV 9.
McGregor was able to connect early on in the fight with Brimage and scored a TKO stoppage at just 1:07 of the first round. Fast forward to today and Conor McGregor is one of the UFC’s biggest attractions.
“The Notorious” became the first and the only fighter to date to earn a disclosed pay of $1,000,000 in his fight with Nate Diaz at UFC 196. The non-title fight that took place at 170 pounds was the first time McGregor lost in the Octagon.
The two are now set for an immediate rematch at UFC 200 in July. McGregor wanted to get the rematch with UFC President Dana White saying “The Notorious” was obsessed with the fact that he lost to Diaz and wanted to avenge the loss.
