Cody Garbrandt clearly tuned in to watch his former friend turned bitter rival TJ Dillashaw return to the Octagon this evening at UFC Vegas 32. Dillashaw (17-4 MMA), the UFC’s former bantamweight champion, was returning to action tonight against perennial division contender Cory Sandhagen. The bout marked TJ’s first since suffering a knockout loss to Henry Cejudo in January of 2019, which was followed by a two-year suspension for his use of the banned substance EPO.

A teammate of Cory Sandhagen at Elevation Fight Team accused TJ Dillashaw of having spies in his rival’s training camp ahead of their fight. Justin Wetzell, a featherweight prospect who competes in LFA, recently spoke to James Lynch and spoke about his teammate Sandhagen’s training camp for the Dillashaw fight this summer. According to Wetzell, it was a peculiar training camp because he said that Dillashaw had Duane “Bang” Ludwig striking students come into the gym and spy on them.

Sandhagen knocked out Marlon Moraes in October with a spinning wheel kick to once again emerge as a top contender at 135lbs. The next UFC bantamweight title fight takes place at UFC 256 in December when new champ Petr Yan defends his belt for the first time against Aljamain Sterling.
