BREAKING: Cris “Cyborg” Justino vs. Megan Anderson official for UFC 214

It’s official. After months of campaigning for a fight at UFC 214, featherweight star Cris “Cyborg” Justino has finally had her wish granted. The Brazilian juggernaut will take on current Invicta featherweight champion Megan Anderson on the July 29 card, which goes down in Anaheim, California. The bout will serve as the card’s the co-main event, and it will crown the UFC’s new undisputed featherweight champion. Former undisputed champion Germaine de Randamie has been stripped of her title, having refused to fight the dominating Cyborg.

This news was announced by the UFC on Twitter on Monday morning.

Cyborg will enter this fight having gone 2-0 since joining the UFC in early 2016. In her first bout, she mauled the durable Leslie Smith to a savage, TKO win. In her second Octagon appearance, which occurred in her native Brazil, she smashed Sweden’s Lina Lansberg to a second-round TKO. Cyborg has not lost since her first pro bout, which occured all the way back in 2005. The Brazilian star’s overall record currently stands at 17-1 with one no contest.

Megan Anderson meanwhile, will enter this massive UFC 214 featherweight fight with an overall record of 10-2. In her most recent fight, she won the interim Invicta featherweight title by defeating Charmaine Tweet. She was then promoted to undisputed champion.

UFC 214 will be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champion Daniel Cormier, and his biggest rival in former champion Jon “Bones” Jones. The UFC 214 lineup will also include a light heavyweight fight between top contenders Jimi Manuwa and Volkan Oezdemir, a featherweight bout between Ricardo Lamas and Jason Knight, and a bantamweight bout between Aljamain Sterling and former bantamweight champ Renan Barao.
