Cris Cyborg lays out potential plans following UFC 198 fight
While Cris Cyborg hasn’t made her UFC debut just yet, the Invicta FC champion has her eyes set on a major fight after her UFC 198 scrap with Leslie Smith tonight.
The fight is a catchweight bout at 140 pounds, however Cyborg could very well go back up to featherweight after the bout despite the UFC not having a women’s featherweight division.
She spoke to Fox Sports Asia:
“If this works well, I could make 140 pounds for either Ronda Rousey or the champion. For the other girls, I don’t know, maybe 145. We’ll see,” said Justino.
“I am going to know more after Saturday. It’s not just about making the weight. My performance will also show if this was a good idea or not.”
While the fight is sure to deliver fireworks, Cyborg has some good things to say about her opponent ahead of the scrap:
“When I found out it would be Leslie, I knew it could potentially be the fight of the night. Leslie is a good fighter – she has a good heart, and she won’t back down,”
“She deserves to be here, too. She was the only one who took the fight, and I respect her for it. She has given me the opportunity to fulfill a dream.”
