Cyborg Cancels Holly Holm Fight Negotiations After Being Insulted By UFC’s Offer
The UFC women’s featherweight champ, and arguably the most dominant female fighter on the planet, still doesn’t have a fight. After a long social media campaign to try and finally get the title defense booked against Holly Holm, Cris Cyborg and their team have called off negotiations and canceled their upcoming meeting to solidify a deal. According to Cyborg, the UFC offered her even less money than her fight against Tonya Evinger when she captured the title.
My meeting with the @UFC for next week has been canceled. They want to pay me less to fight @HollyHolm than I made to fight Tonya Evinger

I will train harder than any fight Ive ever had and leave the rest in gods hands.

It was back at UFC 214 that Cris Cyborg was finally crowned champion in a division the UFC created specifically for her. There were a lot of images circulating that made it seem like we were close to the fight with Holly Holm, it looks like we were, but now we’re back to square one. Hopefully, there will be more updates on the situation and eventually Cyborg can defend her title. After all, she was originally supposed to fight Megan Anderson, who was recently at the UFC Performance Institute. Maybe we can get the former interim Invicta featherweight champion in the Octagon with Cyborg.
