Lina Lansberg Promises to make Cris Cyborg “Bleed A Lot”
It takes a brave, brave woman to fight Cris “Cyborg” Justino. In the main event of UFC Fight Night 95 on September 24, that’s just what Sweden’s Lina Lansberg will do.
Despite the fact that Cyborg (16-1) has not lost an MMA bout in more than a decade, Lansberg (6-1) is confident she can emerge the victor this September. In a recent interview with MMAJunkie.com, the Swedish striker weighed in on this upcoming showdown, and explained why she’s so confident.
“She is beatable,” Lansberg said of Cyborg. “She has beat many good names, but also a lot of names that weren’t that good, and she’s still human. A lot of people win all the time, but everybody is beatable.”
So, how does the Swede plan on beating this destructive Brazilian? Well, by making her bleed.
“I love elbows,” Lansberg explained–though this should come as no surprise considering her nickname is Elbow Princess. “They make everybody bleed so much, and I love that. It will be so much fun. She’s tough, and she’s going to bleed a lot.”
Despite Lansberg’s confidence, however, not many fans are likely to give her much of a chance against Cyborg. It is worth noting, though, that the Swede is extremely well-versed in Muay Thai. As such, it’s very possible that she makes this more of a fight than anyone is expecting.
“I’ve been fighting Muay Thai for so many years now,” Lansberg explained. “I have 85 or 90 fights, many of them in the European and [for] world championships. I’ve fought against [Valentina] Shevchenko, who is fighting in the UFC now. I fought her in the finals of a world championship match. I’ve done it for many years, and I’ve won several gold medals in the European championship and the world championship.”
So, do you think Lansberg’s confidence and belief in her Muay Thai will be enough to defeat Cyborg? Or, is the Swedish fighter in for a rough night this September 24? Sound off, PENN nation!
