In the eyes of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, who lost to Nunes in a July, 2016 title fight, Cyborg should win this fight. That being said, Tate feels Nunes has the kind of power to make this fight interesting. In fact, she believes Nunes has enough firepower to put Cyborg down if she connects properly.

Last night, news surfaced that UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg will next defend her title opposite bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 on December 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight stands out as one of the biggest in the history of women’s mixed martial arts. Shortly after news of this huge super fight surfaced, online sportsbook Oddsshark.com set the opening betting line for it. As expected, the much larger, long undefeated featherweight champion Cris Cyborg is indeed the favorite — but not by the giant margin she’s used to.

4 ways that the UFC can proceed with the featherweight division
Drake Riggs - August 21, 2018
Surely when you first saw this title you were a little confused as to why this is a list of four rather than five. Well, to be honest, that’s just the kind of state of affairs that we’re working with here. It’s no secret that the experiment known as the UFC women’s featherweight division has been a complete and utter failure up to this point.

Cris Cyborg is down to lose to Ronda Rousey in WWE
Thomas Taylor - August 8, 2018
For a time, one of the biggest super fights possible in MMA was one pitting former Strikeforce and UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey against former Strikeforce, Invicta, and now UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg. Regrettably, this fight never came together, and now that Rousey is firmly embedded in the pro wrestling world, it almost certainly never will. That said, Cyborg would still like to compete with Rousey. In fact, she’d even be willing to meet Rousey in the WWE ring — even if the pro wrestling organization wanted her to lose the match.

Speaking earlier this weekend in the buildup to UFC on FOX 30 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, UFC President Dana White gave a promising update on this much discussed super fight.

Pam Sorenson making it clear that she wants next shot at Cris Cyborg
Drake Riggs - July 20, 2018
Looking for a fight of her own against seemingly anyone, Cris “Cyborg” Justino isn’t generally one that attracts opponents. In the UFC’s borderline non-existent featherweight division that consists of only two legitimate 145ers, something needs to change. That something being additional fighters.

Dear MMA Gods | We need to see Cyborg's toughest test
Drake Riggs - July 16, 2018
If you love something, let it go…or wait for its contract to expire. The seemingly never-ending civil war between UFC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino and the UFC rages on.

Cris Cyborg believes Amanda Nunes fight will be her last in the UFC
Tom Taylor - July 15, 2018
UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg was hoping her super fight with bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes would occur at UFC 228 this September 8. Regrettably, Nunes turned this date down, and the UFC is now working on the fight for UFC 232 on December 29. This is not ok with Cyborg, who has not fought since March, when she mauled Yana Kunitskaya to a first-round stoppage. The featherweight champ is simply not interested in enduring long layovers of this length.
