Curtis Blaydes says he doesn’t consider “juice head” Brock Lesnar a legitimate MMA fighter

Curtis Blaydes wants the next crack at UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. If it weren’t for the upcoming UFC return of WWE star Brock Lesnar, he might just have gotten it.

Unfortunately for Blaydes, Lesnar is returning, and when he does, he’ll jump the heavyweight contendership line and get the next shot at Cormier. In the meantime, Blaydes will rematch the only man he’s lost to, former title challenger Francis Ngannou.

Speaking on the latest episode of Submission Radio, Curtis Blaydes gave his take on Lesnar’s controversial title shot, and whether the WWE star has any chance of unseating the champion Cormier.

In his eyes, that’s a hard “no.”

“No [chance]. None whatsoever,” Blaydes said of Lesnar defeating Cormier. “I don’t even view Brock as a legitimate MMA fighter.”

“He was juiced to the gills when he fought in the early to mid-2000’s. So I don’t respect juice heads.”

Blaydes also admitted that he feels a little disrespected by the UFC.

“I still feel disrespected that Brock Lesnar gets to jump in out of the blue,” he said. “He’s not even ranked. He’s not even officially on the roster and he gets to have a title fight scheduled and he hasn’t proven himself. So yeah, that’s what makes me feel disrespected.”

That being said, he also understands why the UFC made the decision to award Lesnar a title shot.

“We’re all adults,” he said. “They want money. I get it. They want money. I’m not money yet, so it is what it is.”

For Curtis Blaydes, the hope is that a win over Francis Ngannou will guarantee him the next crack at heavyweight gold after Lesnar. That being said, he’s not getting his hopes up.

“This is the UFC, so you never know,” he said. “I may have to fight one more time, I may have to fight two more times. Who knows? I used to think about that, like, my trajectory and who’s next and what’s next. But all it does is you end up feeling disappointed and disrespected when it doesn’t happen. And I don’t wanna be walking around feeling like I’m disrespected. So, I don’t have any expectations for after this fight besides winning. I don’t have any expectations for what’s next.”

Do you think Curtis Blaydes should have gotten a title shot ahead of Brock Lesnar?
