Dan Henderson ‘could be talked into retirement for another job’
Ahead of UFC 199 this Saturday, many are wondering just how long Dan Henderson has left in the sport before he finally makes the decision to retire.
After fighting for nearly two decades without mentioning retirement, ahead of his UFC 199 scrap against Hector Lombard, Henderson has finally opened the door to retirement talks. He spoke to MMAJunkie to discuss Lombard as an opponent, and why he feels he could be “talked” into retirement by UFC President Dana White.
“Either way, I’m going to be a part of this sport and be involved,” Henderson said. “I have no idea how many more fights I’ll do. This could be the last one, or I could do five more. I don’t know. I just have to wait and see what my options are after this fight.
“It’s basically what I’m offered after this fight, to fight or not fight. I have to sit down with (UFC President Dana White) and hash things out and see what my options are and make my decision at that point.”
“I could be talked into not fighting if he offers me a different job.”
