Leading up to Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping’s UFC 204 showdown on October 8th, Bisping has taken the offensive in the war of words between the two men.

When the pair first fought at UFC 100, they did so after coaching opposite one another on ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Team USA vs. Team UK’. At the time, Dan Henderson was granted a Testosterone Use Exemption (TUE) and was allowed to do Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). While Henderson never failed a drug test, and his usage of TRT was completely legal in the eyes of the NSAC at the time, Michael Bisping recently questioned whether or not Henderson actually needed the treatment given that after it was banned Henderson continued to fight, going as far as to call the Pride FC legend a ‘cheater’.

That didn’t sit too well with Henderson, who fired back during the UFC 204 Gym day (Quotes via MMAFighting), saying:

“I think he’s a little bit naive about certain things,” said Henderson, who challenges for Bisping’s middleweight title in the main event of UFC 204. “I was taking TRT when it was legal and really wasn’t taking much. That’s why I think it’s funny. I think his body has changed more since we fought the first time than mine has. He looks a lot bigger and a lot different now than he did then. I look about the same except for maybe a little grayer here and there.”

“I don’t care what he says,” Henderson said of Bisping. “It doesn’t matter to me. I know, in my mind, who I am and how I’ve been throughout the years. I never tested positive for anything.

“I’m the one guy that’s probably been asking for this type of drug-testing for probably five or six years before they started it.”

It is important to mention that neither man has ever tested positive for banned substances. According to USADA’s website, just in the time since the UFC and USADA have partnered, Bisping has been tested out of competition 8 times, and Henderson has been tested out-of-competition 15 times.
