Dan Henderson talks retirement plans ahead of UFC on FOX 19
At 45 years old, it’s no secret that Dan Henderson’s time inside the Octagon will be coming to a close in the near future. The former PRIDE champion will step into the Octagon for the 16th time on April 16th as he faces former UFC champion Lyoto Machida.
While Henderson is coming off a KO loss to Vitor Belfort, he admits that he still may have a few fights left in him before calling it quits.
He spoke to MMAJunkie:
“It’s a possibility I’ll be retiring soon. I don’t know – maybe after two or three more. Or maybe this is the last one. I have no idea.
“It all depends on how I feel after this fight.”
While Henderson is undoubtably a legend of the sport, a win over Machida could move him one step closer to capturing UFC gold. The first time the pair stepped into the Octagon at UFC 157, Machida picked up a split decision win.
