UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker is open to fighting Tony Ferguson after Dustin Poirier had contract talks fail with the promotion. UFC president Dana White recently said that an intriguing lightweight bout between Ferguson and Poirier was “probably” ticketed for UFC 254. Ferguson has already agreed to the fight but the promotion apparently cannot come to terms on a contract with Poirier and it’s not looking increasingly likely the UFC will move on from the matchup.

Hooker, 30, is hoping to get back into the Octagon sooner rather than later after his unanimous decision loss to Dustin Poirier back in June. Alas, despite the defeat, “Hangman” saw his stock rise significantly after a fight that was dubbed by many as a Fight of the Year contender.

Despite a spirited effort from the New Zealand native, Poirier was able to get the job done and score a huge unanimous decision victory to vault himself right back into title contention.

UFC lightweight Dan Hooker posted a photo of his face one week after his Fight of the Year war against Dustin Poirier, adding that he looks “good as new.” Hooker and Poirier threw down for 25 minutes of action at UFC on ESPN 12 last Saturday night in one of the best UFC fights of the year, if not all-time. Hooker and Poirier somehow managed to make it the full five rounds despite throwing everything including the kitchen sink at each other. Although both men survived without being finished, both men took a huge amount of damage in the fight, including Poirier showing off a swollen ankle and Hooker exhibiting numerous cuts on his face.

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier will be needing some time off following his grueling five round war with Dan Hooker. Poirier and Hooker squared off in the headliner of last weekend’s UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas and produced one of the greatest fights of all time. The lightweight standouts traded strikes at an absolutely insane pace for twenty-five straight minutes leaving the judges in attendance with a tough decision. In the end, it was ‘The Diamond’ who received the nod from the judges, walking away with a unanimous decision victory.

In the main event of UFC on ESPN 12, aka UFC Vegas 4, Dustin Poirier was looking to return to the win column when he battled Dan Hooker. Ahead of the fight, many were expecting the bout to earn Fight of the Night honors. Yet, the two put on an all-time great fight and exceeded many fan’s expectations. In the end, it was Poirier who edged out the unanimous decision win after five hard rounds.

UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker released a video statement following his unanimous decision loss to Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC on ESPN 12. Hooker and Poirier put on one of the best fights of the year as both men fought tooth-and-nail for five rounds, with the judging scoring the bout 48-47, 48-47 and 48-46 in favor of Poirier after 25 minutes. It was an incredible fight between two of the best lightweights in the world, who both left every piece of themselves inside the Octagon on Saturday night.
