The UFC has added two huge fights to their upcoming June lineup, including a featherweight bout between The Korean Zombie and Dan Ige. Ige (15-3 MMA) had called out Chan Sung Jung immediately following his sensational first-round knockout victory over Gavin Tucker at UFC Vegas 21.

The UFC rankings have been updated following UFC Vegas 21, with featherweight Dan Ige and light heavyweight Ryan Spann moving up the ladder. Ige knocked out Gavin Tucker in 22 seconds, while Spann finished Misha Cirkunov in the first round for his biggest UFC victory to date. Both Ige and Spann not only earned $50,000 bonuses for their incredible knockouts, but they have also moved up the UFC rankings in the latest update. UFC featherweight contender Dan Ige called out The Korean Zombie following his incredible one-punch KO over Gavin Tucker at UFC Vegas 21. Ige needed just 22 seconds to finish Tucker, as he landed a brutal straight right that knocked his opponent out cold. It was Ige’s seventh win in the UFC and it helped him bounce back following a unanimous decision loss to Calvin Kattar in his last fight. It also earned him a well-deserved 50k bonus for Performance of the Night, and it’s the kind of big win that should give Ige another top fighter in his next outing. After taking a step back and fighting the unranked Tucker, it seems likely that Ige will get a top-10 ranked opponent.

Dan Ige was preparing to face someone else besides Ryan Hall. Ige was originally supposed to face Hall at UFC Vegas 21 on March 13. However, even as the fight drew closer, he had a feeling the grappling wizard would pull out which would be the case. After Hall pulled out, Ige made it clear he wanted to be on this card and will now take on Gavin Tucker.

Dan Ige stays on UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad card after Gavin Tucker steps up

UFC featherweight Dan Ige is staying on the UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad card after Gavin Tucker stepped up on short notice. Ige was originally set to fight Ryan Hall in what would have been a really intriguing matchup, but BJPenn.com’s Cole Shelton reported that Hall was forced out of the fight due to injury. The UFC looked around for potential opponents to fill in for Hall and eventually settled on Tucker. It is worth noting that Tucker was supposed to fight Cub Swanson on May 1, and it’s unclear what immediate impact that this booking will have on that fight. Ige vs. Tucker will now fight on the UFC Fight Night card that is set to take place on March 13 in Las Vegas. ESPN.com’s Brett Okamoto was the first to break the word of the fight.

Breaking: Ryan Hall out of March 13 fight with Dan Ige

Ryan Hall will no longer be making his return to the Octagon on March 13 after all. Multiple sources have informed BJPENN.com that Hall has pulled out of the fight with an injury suffered in training. Sources say the UFC is looking for a replacement to fight Ige.

Ryan Hall is back. Multiple sources have confirmed to BJPENN.com that Ryan Hall and Dan Ige is agreed to for March 13 with contracts having already been sent out. The event currently does not have a location.

UFC featherweight Ryan Hall has immediately issued a callout after being medically cleared to compete once again. Hall, who is considered to be one of the best submission specialists in all of mixed martial arts, hasn’t fought since back in July 2019 when he beat Darren Elkins via unanimous decision. He had, however, twice been booked to fight Ricardo Lamas, only for the bout to fall apart on two separate occasions – the latter being due to Hall sustaining an injury.

In the main event of UFC Fight Island 1, rising featherweight contenders, in Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige were looking to continue their hot streaks. It was a very intriguing scrap, where the winner would likely enter a number one contender bout, or perhaps earn a title shot. Both fighters told BJPENN.com they were planning on breaking the other in there, but that is far from what happened. Both Kattar and Ige kept on coming forward and landing heavy shots. But, it was Kattar who got the job done by decision.

Kattar (21-4) was riding high after a very impressive knockout win over Jeremy Stephens at UFC 249. He is currently 5-2 inside the Octagon with notable wins over Shane Burgos, Andre Fili, and Ricardo Lamas. His lone UFC losses came to Renato Moicano and Zabit Magomedsharipov, where many thought if the fight was five rounds, Kattar would’ve won.

Dan Ige doesn’t understand how people thought Edson Barboza beat him. Back at UFC on ESPN 8, Barboza made his featherweight debut against the 15th-ranked, Dan Ige. Early on in the fight, the Brazilian dropped Ige but the Hawaiian rallied in the second and third rounds to win a split decision.

False positive COVID-19 tests caused scares for Dan Ige and Claudia Gadelha in Jacksonville

Both Claudia Gadelha and Dan Ige fought on UFC Fight Night in Jacksonville back on May 16 and both fighters came away with wins respectively. However, both fighters were also recent guests on Sirius XM Fight Nation’s ‘MMA Tonight’ and revealed they endure some COVID-19 scares in their camp. Before she picked up a win over Angela Hill, Claudia Gadelha said there was a lot of stress during her camp and the first COVID-19 test she received came back inconclusive and she was required to quarantine for 24 hours her first day in Jacksonville.
