Dana White Doesn’t Care If TRT Users Retire
By Evan Stoumbelis
Even after it’s ban TRT is still making headlines. Chael Sonnen said in an interview recently that he may have to give up MMA as a result of the ban on TRT because he needs it to function in his everyday life. This was in line with what Dr. Neil Goodman said about TRT users who will have to stop using the product when he said they will suffer miserably for halting their usage.
UFC President Dana White wasn’t phased by any of the above comments however, saying to MMAJunkie:
“I don’t care. If you need that stuff to perform and compete, you probably shouldn’t perform or compete any more.”
Vitor Belfort became the poster-boy for TRT before it was banned, when he had a sudden surge in his career, knocking out 3 opponents in a row with head kicks. He was slated to fight Chris Weidman for the middleweight strap before the NSAC pulled him from the bout so his testosterone levels can lower.
This past week news emerged that the NSAC tested Belfort’s testosterone levels on February 7th but the results were never released to the general public and were called “irrelevant” by the fighter’s attorney he was removed from his UFC 173 bout.
Let’s hear your take PENNation? What are your thoughts on the TRT ban as well as fighters saying they will be unable to compete without it? Sound off in the comments section.
