Dana White doesn’t want “Cowboy” to fight at 155-pounds
Donald Cerrone earned his third-straight victory inside the UFC’s welterweight division last night at UFC 202, when he TKO’d Rick Story in the second-round of their main card fight.
Following his big win, “Cowboy” called out current UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for a title fight at November’s UFC 205 event in New York.
Cerrone defeated Alvarez in Eddie’s octagon debut back in 2014.
Dana White talked to reporters about Cerrone following last night’s UFC 202 event. This is what the UFC had to say in regards to “Cowboy”:
“I don’t like the ’55. He looked amazing at 170,” White told FS1 after the event. “He’s on a roll. Nobody does that to Story, what he did to him tonight. Cowboy looks good at 170 and I’d like to see him stay there.”
White was asked if he would consider Cerrone to be on a title path in his new weight class:
“Yeah, of course,” he responded. “I could.”
