Dana White: Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar could be for the vacant title

While UFC President Dana White has announced that Conor McGregor will no longer be fighting at UFC 200 after refusing to fulfill his media obligations, there has been some question as to whether or not he will remain the featherweight champion.

McGregor announced on Twitter yesterday morning that he was retiring from MMA, which would mean that he will be forced to vacate his featherweight championship. However during an appearance on Fox Sports 1 Wednesday morning, Dana White explained that McGregor needs to clear things up if he plans on holding on to his featherweight championship.

White also explained that he and McGregor are not on bad terms despite McGregor’s refusal to fulfill media obligations for UFC 200, and that if McGregor were to call him today, McGregor vs. Diaz would be back on!
