Dana White on Vince McMahon: “He’s an animal and I respect it”

By Chris Taylor - August 29, 2016

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey shocked fans in March of 2015 when she jumped into the pro wrestling ring with “The Rock” at WrestleMania 31.

Earlier this summer former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE star Brock Lesnar made waves when he returned to the octagon for a fight with Mark Hunt at July’s blockbuster UFC 200 card in Las Vegas.

Neither of those events would have taken place if UFC president Dana White and WWE owner Vince McMahon did not have a business relationship.

The brash UFC boss was a recent guest on WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Ric Flair’s podcast, where he discussed doing business with Vince McMahon and how things have improved over the past couple of years (via FOX Sports):

“If you look at what Vince McMahon has accomplished in all of his years and to still be on top and still be doing it. The guy’s got enough money, he’s in it because he loves it, he’s in it because he’s still passionate about it. I would say that this last Brock deal and when Ronda went over did the WWE WrestleMania, those were the two out of all the years of dealing with Vince and everybody, those were probably the two best experiences.”

He Continued:

“I think Vince and definitely Stephanie (McMahon) and Triple H – Stephanie and Triple H are always great, always cool to work with – Vince has been very difficult in the past but the past several years he’s been much better. He’s a f**king maniac,” Dana said of McMahon. “He’s an animal, he’s a competitor, he wants to win. That’s his nature and I respect it.”

Former WWE champion CM Punk will make his octagon debut at next month’s UFC 203 event in Cleveland.
