Conor McGregor can fight anyone right now, absolutely anyone he wants. That’s good and bad for the UFC. After making more money than his entire UFC career combined in one boxing match, everyone knew it was going to be difficult to get him back to the Octagon. The latest opponent for McGregor that has popped up is none other than Manny Pacquiao, who claimed he was in negotiations to box the Irishman in April. Dana White was quick to shut that down, citing it would result in a lawsuit, but went further last night on social media to put the final nail in the coffin. He’s not Boxing anyone so calm down cry babies.

When asked about each other by the media, it’s likely that they will both come out with some scathing remarks directed at one another. The tune has not changed as Arum spoke with the media after the Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux card in New York. Arum was asked about White’s plans of getting into boxing promotions and the Top Rank CEO fired away with another boxing vs. MMA fueled response.

The UFC 219 superfight plot thickens. We all know the story by now. Nate Diaz started training for a fight, rumors swirled out of control, talks revealed that the UFC were in negotiations with Diaz to fight UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Suddenly, things went quiet until Woodley started calling out the younger Diaz brother in the media every where he could. It finally died and Woodley claimed Diaz priced himself out of the fight on purpose. Eventually Dana White attempted to put the final nail in the coffin and said that the fight wasn’t ever even offered. Woodley has already disputed that statement, but in this latest video, Nate Diaz seems to say the same thing. …Well, in his own words. Shutup bitch. Your both thirsty ….

Fabricio Werdum has won three of his last four fights, but everything other than his fighting has seemed to be a rocky road. While he’s never strayed away from a little controversy, he recently almost had a scuffle with interim UFC lightweight champ Tony Ferguson, which he paired with a crazy boomerang attack on Colby Covington. Dana White recently opened up about the confrontation and his bad relationship with Werdum. “Me and [Fabricio] Werdum do not have a good relationship. At all. At all. [The altercation in Austrailia] is just a continued — this is what this guy does. He almost fights Tony Ferguson at the media luncheon. There’s a laundry list of me and Werdum. When I was driving here today to meet you guys, Werdum texted me and said ‘I wanna come out, I wanna meet, I wanna sit down.’ I haven’t been willing to meet with him for a while now. And I texted him back and said ‘let’s do it.’ So me and Werdum are gonna sit down, try to hug and make up. No, I don’t laugh [at Werdum throwing a boomerang at Colby Covington], that’s not funny. Believe me, I get it, I get it that Colby disrespected Brazil and all the Brazilian people. I know how Brazilians get about that stuff. You just can’t go around assaulting people, you know? It seems the UFC has sort of backed themselves into a corner. Robert Whittaker fought the guy no one wanted to and beat Yoel Romero fair and square to win the interim UFC middleweight title. Instead of pairing Michael Bisping up with Whittaker to unify, the UFC opted to have Georges St-Pierre swoop down in an illustrious return and he ended up taking that title at UFC 217 in dramatic fashion. However, now St-Pierre’s plans are up in the air and Dana White is absolutely not having it. “[Georges St-Pierre] looked at [Michael] Bisping like he was a tune-up [fight]. You got your tune-up, there’s nothing but f-king animals at 185 and 170. Luke Rockhold is massive, he’s massive when he cuts weight. There’s no good options. To sit there and try to handpick people, or where you want to go and everything else, you can’t in this f-king sport. They’re all nasty. You’re a fighter, get in there and see who you can f-king beat. You wanted to f-king come back, welcome back. I don’t even know if Perth [UFC 221 against Robert Whittaker] is what I want for him yet, so we’re gonna’ talk today and figure it out. I don’t wanna’ hear [about St-Pierre dropping back down to welterweight]. That’s not what I wanna’ hear. I wanna’ hear he’s gonna’ defend the 185-pound title. That’s the agreement we made. According to Dana White, there were plans for Conor McGregor to fight on the last pay-per-view card of the year at UFC 219. However, McGregor’s incident in the Bellator cage that brought a lot of attention to the UFC’s main competitor had him nixed from the event for shoving the referee and slapping a Bellator staff member. Now, rumors are swirling around that “The Notorious” punched a man in a bar in Crumlin, Ireland. Reports have been circulating in Irish media that the man McGregor hit has ties to the mob in Ireland.

There is no mystery on who UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson wants to fight next in the Octagon. Following his interim title win over Kevin Lee at UFC 216 back in October, “El Cucuy” lashed out at UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in his post-fight Octagon speech. “Where you at McNuggets, ya f**king piece of s**t,” Ferguson screamed into the mic while being interviewed by Joe Rogan. “I’m gonna kick your ass. You better come and f**king defend that belt. Defend or vacate, motherf**ker!”

We all knew it would be hard to get Nate Diaz back in the Octagon after back-to-back gigantic fights with Conor McGregor, but we had no idea it would be this difficult. Initially, we all thought he’d just be waiting until McGregor came back from his multi-million boxing bout, but that lag time just kept growing larger and larger until nothing. The MMA community’s ears peaked up when there was word of a bonkers fight between Tyron Woodley and Diaz to beef up UFC 219, but that has since been squashed. In a recent interview with Dana White, he not only says that the fight was never offered to begin with, but that Diaz has turned down every single fight he’s been offered for a year and a half. “Nate Diaz has turned down a fight with everyone on the roster. Although the UFC lightweight champion came up short and was stopped by the undefeated boxing legend in the 10th round, he still won in terms of pay. “The Notorious” earned a guaranteed $30 million fight purse while “Money” Mayweather got his demands of a guaranteed $100 million fight purse. In addition to their fight purses, a substantial amount of money was made for both fighters from the pay-per-view revenue.

Speaking on Tuesday in Santa Monica at the extension of Freddie Roach’s infamous Wild Card Boxing Club at the Wild Card West boxing club, White told Lance Pugmire of the LA Times that he is “getting into boxing, 100 percent.”

Originally, UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt was expected to return opposite Marcin Tybura in the main event of the UFC’s upcoming show in Sydney, Australia. Yet shortly after Hunt wrote an op-ed for Players Voice, in which he admitted to suffering from many symptoms of brain injury, he was pulled from this fight and replaced by Fabricio Werdum. Unsurprisingly, Mark Hunt was not especially pleased about this turn of events. Since his removal from UFC Sydney, he has unleashed a stream of criticisms of the UFC and its show-runner Dana White.
