Tony Ferguson has had plenty to say about UFC President Dana White over the last few days ā and none of it has been good. From the sounds of it, Ferguson’s growing disdain for White stems from the comments the UFC boss made after Ferguson was forced out of a 2018 fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

For a little while, it sounded like WWE star Brock Lesnar might finally return to the UFC’s Octagon for a heavyweight title fight with Daniel Cormier this year. Unfortunately for Lesnar fans, this long-awaited fight ultimately fizzled out, as Lesnar recommitted to his pro wrestling career. Shortly after it became clear that Brock Lesnar would not be returning to the UFC, Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer reported that the former heavyweight champ’s negotiations with the UFC were hindered by the promotion’s new pay-per-view model.

Speaking to ESPN recently, UFC President Dana White updated on the fighting future of former two-division champ and MMA mega star Conor McGregor. The UFC boss explained that McGregor’s massive financial success is allowing him to sit back wait for the right moment to return. He also assured that the UFC’s new pay-per-view model ā PPVS are now available exclusively through ESPN ā has nothing to do with the delay on McGregor’s return.

Until recently, top UFC lightweights Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor were both managed by Paradigm Sports. In April, however, Ferguson parted ways with Paradigm and signed with Ballengee Group. Speaking to ESPN, Ferguson opened on his departure from Paradigm, claiming he left because the company did everything they could to keep him from a fight with fellow client McGregor.

It is not the first time that the brash UFC boss has taken to social media over fan backlash. Last November, long-time boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya promoted his first MMA event. The card, which was topped by a trilogy fight between aging UFC Hall of Famers Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell, received plenty of backlash ā most notably from UFC President Dana White. āThe guy wants to act like heās my competitor [promoting MMA],ā White told Yahoo! Sports of De La Hoya’s MMA venture. āI have a real business that Iāve built over the last 18 years. A real business, and I can hit you with numbers for days about [how successful it is]. How much has Oscar De La Hoya reinvested into the sport of boxing? Weāve reinvested millions and millions of dollars and we continue to do it every day. The list goes on and on.

Kevin Lee believes 165-pound division is 'inevitable,' sees no downside to it

Kevin Lee is set to move up to welterweight to take on Rafael dos Anjos in the main event of UFC Rochester. Although Lee will weigh around 170 pounds, he was hoping by now he would be a part of a new 165-pound division. Lee and several other fighters have talked about why this division is so important for their health, and added that the UFC would benefit from the creation of another belt. However, UFC President Dana White has said there won’t be a 165-pound division for at least the next seven years ā as long as he is in charge. But, “The Motown Phenom” is not buying that at all.

Over the last few months, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has made several mentions of a potential super fight with former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor. McGregor, never one to turn down a challenge, has shown reciprocal interest in this matchup. Despite the mutual interest Anderson Silva and Conor McGregor have in fighting one another, however, the matchup still looks pretty unlikely. Speaking to TMZ Sports this week, Silva did what he could to change that, pushing UFC President Dana White to book the fight.

For most of the fight, it seemed like Smoliakov was back peddling and as soon as the former NFL star hit him, it appeared the Russian wanted nothing to do with it. Smoliakov struggled from the get-go, and UFC President Dana White is not sure how he has nine wins on his record. That being said, White refuted the claim it was a so-called ‘set up fight’ for Hardy.
