Tell me when,” White said at the UFC 231 post-fight press conference (transcript via Sherdog). “Yeah [he just fought three months ago], and it took us forever to get him to fight that fight. He never wants to fight. You want to be a world champion, but you don’t want to fight anybody. That’s a problem.

Dana White gives update on the state of the UFC flyweight division heading into 2019

Tom Taylor - December 6, 2018

The future of the UFC flyweight division is still shrouded in mystery. One the one hand, the promotion recently booked arguably the biggest fight in the division’s history, as reigning champion Henry Cejudo is set to defend his title against slimmed-down UFC bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw at UFC on ESPN+1 on January 19. On the other hand, there’s been a prevalence of rumors suggesting the UFC will soon disband the division, which have been spurred on by the promotion’s choice to part ways with fighters like Demetrious Johnson, Jose Torres, Jared Brooks, Roberto Sanchez, Ulka Sasaki, and Justin Scoggins.

Tom Taylor - December 5, 2018

If UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley battles his arch nemesis Colby Covington in the New Year as expected, he’s expecting to have to fend off some takedown attempt. So many takedown attempts, in fact, that he recently made Covington a little wager on the topic. “I’ll bet you $10,000 every single time you touch my leg for a (takedown) shot, you’ve got to pay me $10,000,” Woodley said on his Hollywood Beatdown show. “I want people to see it for what it is.”

Dana White says it would be unfair for Khabib Nurmagomedov to be suspended more than a year

Cole Shelton - December 1, 2018

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor are both currently under suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), this for the melee that occurred after UFC 229. A final hearing to determine their punishments is set for December 10. What the NSAC plans to do remains a mystery. The most extreme punishment would be to strip both fighters of their respective licenses, this in addition to issuing fines and lengthy suspensions. Ultimately, that seems unlikely to happen.

Speaking on the UFC Unfiltered podcast this week, UFC President Dana White unleashed a virulent tirade targeting Oscar De La Hoya and Tito Ortiz for allowing Chuck Liddell to fight again — and ultimately be knocked out again. “Listen, I love Chuck Liddell and I don’t ever want to badmouth Chuck Liddell,” White said (transcript via MMANytt). “People do think I’m badmouthing Chuck Liddell , but the reality is, first of all, let’s says this first, I heard last week that the cokehead, ‘Oscar Del La Weirdo’ is talking s***, that I don’t have any place to tell guys when to retire. First of all, it’s called friendship you f***ing cokehead. Dana White doesn't believe Conor McGregor took Khabib Nurmagomedov trash talk too far

Tom Taylor - November 28, 2018

Ahead of his UFC 229 fight with undefeated UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor unleashed plenty of his famous trash talk. Unfortunately, some fans felt that McGregor crossed some lines with his trash talk of Nurmagomedov, as he targeted the champ’s family, ethnicity, religion and more. UFC President Dana White, however, doesn’t see it that way. Speaking to ESPN recently, White essentially said that all’s fair in the fight business, and that Conor McGregor mentioning Khabib Nurmagomedov’s religion and family is no different than Muhammad Ali targeting George Foreman ahead of The Thrilla in Manila.
