UFC President Dana White talks about how his job changes with the sale of the UFC
UFC President Dana White will no longer have his good friend and partner Lorenzo Fertitta by his side while working on anything UFC for much longer.
With WME | IMG’s $4 billion purchase of the UFC from Zuffa, Fertitta will be stepping down as CEO and White will continue working as the UFC President and says that he was just given a much bigger workload with Lorenzo out of the picture.
“I’m stepping forward, I’m not stepping back,” White told KLAS in Las Vegas on Monday (transcribed by FOX Sports). “With Lorenzo leaving, it’s a lot more work for me.
“Lorenzo and I used to divide and conquer. With him gone, I’m going to have to pick up a lot of the stuff he used to do.”
While White might have a lot more work to do, he believes that the new partners involved are going to take the sport of mixed martial arts to a new level.
“The biggest deal in the history of sports and the most valuable sports franchise on Earth. They’re handing it over to a company that we all believe will take this thing to the next level,” White said.
“As far as the sport, the brand and the athletes — it’s gonna be big. It’s gonna be big for everybody.”
