UFC President Dana White spoke to Megan Olivi backstage yesterday evening at Madison Square Garden where he recapped the historic UFC 205 fight card.

Last night’s big event was topped off by a lightweight title fight between Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor. “Mystic Mac” was able to score a second-round knockout over Alvarez in the evenings main event, thus becoming the first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously.

In the co-main event UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley went to war with Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. The pairs epic five-round battle resulted in a majority draw and a rematch between the two welterweight standouts is now in the works.

Also on the card was a strawweight title fight between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Joanna was dominant throughout the fight, but Karolina did have her hurt in round-four after landing a big right hand. In the end Jedrzejczyk retained her title after winning four of five rounds.

The rest of the card was also packed with spectacular action. Yoel Romero became the middleweight divisions number on contender by scoring a flying-knee knockout victory over former champ Chris Weidman.

Raquel Pennington upset Miesha Tate on the main card and “Cupcake” subsequently announced her retirement.

Frankie Edgar, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tim Boetsch also scored impressive victories on the card.
