UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is currently gearing up for his highly anticipated UFC 214 main event showdown with Jon Jones this weekend where the pair will fight for the undisputed light heavyweight title two years after the pair’s first meeting at UFC 182, where Jones captured a rather one-sided unanimous decision.

Ahead of the pair’s rematch, Daniel Cormier has been very open about the fact that he believes wholeheartedly that Jones was on PEDs in the pair’s first fight. He spoke to MMAFighting:

“I do, 100%,” Cormier said. “Physically, there were some differences, but also, logically, there were differences. Medically, there were differences. There were a lot of reasons as to why it’d point to him doing stuff like that.

“If he’s gonna do things to sabotage himself, why wouldn’t he do things to enhance himself? He tested positive for those two (substances), his brother tested positive for the same two things, the same exact time. There are just so many reasons to believe that he had been cheating.”

Jones of course was infamously pulled from the pair’s UFC 200 rematch just 48 hours before the fight after he was informed by USADA that he had failed a random pre-fight drug test. Ultimately, the UFC selected Anderson Silva as a fill-in opponent for Cormier, and Jones was sidelined pending a hearing. After going through the appeal process, Jones was handed a one-year suspension.

On Saturday, he will look to not only make his successful return to the Octagon following the end of his suspension, but also cement his place atop the UFC’s light heavyweight division by reclaiming the title belt he never officially lost inside the Octagon.

Tune in to UFC 214 this weekend to watch Jones and Cormier go to war, in addition to countless other high-profile fights.
