Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones trade barbs over steroid accusations
On Saturday, the UFC took over Kansas City, Missouri with UFC on Fox 24. It was an unforgettable card, as we saw flyweight champ Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson score a historic 10th title defense with an armbar of Wilson Reis, Rose Namajunas pick up an emphatic submission defeat of Michelle Waterson, and Robert Whittaker burst into title contention with a second-round stoppage of Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. While this card dominated fan attention on Saturday, however, it did not serve as enough of a distraction to keep light heavyweight rivals Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones from ripping at each other on social media.
While Cormier, who is the current UFC light heavyweight champion, was undoubtedly busy with his UFC on Fox broadcast duties, he found time in his day to hit the former champ Jones with a fiery accusation on Twitter, accusing him outright of using steroids and cheating. This remark from Cormier followed a Tweet from Jones which asked if Cormier really believes he would ever do steroids.
do you really think I took steroids or is that just another thing you tell yourself to sleep better after I made u forever my bitch

In this latest remark, Cormier is referencing a drug test that Jones failed in the buildup to UFC 200, which was supposed to be headlined by their anticipated light heavyweight title rematch. This failed test, unsurprisingly, nixed that plan.
Cormier and Jones first met back in early 2015, when Jones was still the champion. Despite a valiant effort from Cormier, Jones held onto his title with a unanimous decision win. Shortly thereafter, however, he was stripped of the title after a laundry list of troubles outside the cage. Cormier then won the vacant title with a submission defeat of Anthony “Rumble” Johnson, and has since defended it with a defeat of Alexander Gustafsson and a second defeat of Rumble.
What do you think of these latest accusations from Daniel Cormier? Are they fair? Sound off, PENN Nation!
