Daniel Cormier promises things will “not be good” if Jon Jones tries to enter the Octagon at UFC 210
This Saturday night, the UFC will touch down in Buffalo, New York with UFC 210. In the main event of this card, light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will attempt to defend his title against an old foe in streaking challenger Anthony “Rumble” Johnson.
Whoever wins this light heavyweight title fight will likely have a monumental challenge on their plate before the year is out, as they will be tasked with welcoming former champion Jon Jones back to the Octagon. Jones, who stands out as the greatest light heavyweight in MMA history, and one of the best fighters ever outright, never lost the title, but was instead stripped after a litany of troubles outside the cage.
In anticipation of Jones’ long discussed return to action, the UFC has flown him into Buffalo, where he will be cage side to watch Cormier and Rumble battle for gold. The expectation, of course, is that he might then join the winner in the cage for a post-fight staredown and photo-op. If that winner is Cormier, things could get interesting.
Speaking to Fightful.com’s “Showdown” Joe Ferraro, Cormier apparently said things will “not be good” if Jones attempts to enter the Octagon at UFC 210.
Daniel Cormier just said Jon Jones is not welcomed into his Octagon and if he does try to come in, it will not be good #UFC210

Cormier’s prickly attitude on this subject is understandable. He and Jones share one of the most heated rivalries in MMA history, having famously brawled at a press event in the buildup to their first fight. Jones’ numerous issues outside the cage have clearly not improved Cormier’s opinion of him, hence this fiery comment.
Cormier has not been seen in the cage since he defeated Anderson Silva in a non-title fight last July. Silva stepped in to replace Jones at the last minute, after Jones failed a drug test.
