Don Frye blasts “overrated” Daniel Cormier

MMA pioneer Don Frye is never one to shy away from speaking his mind. The former UFC tournament winner often finds himself at odds with the UFC brass for speaking out against the promotion.

Recently, Frye gave an interview in which he weighed in on UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s standoff with the UFC. Given Jon Jones’ win over Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197, Frye was also asked how he thinks a rematch between Jones and Cormier will go.

He spoke to Submission Radio:

“Oh my God, it will be the same thing. It will be the same thing. Cormier is the most overrated, underperforming, worthless trash talker I’ve ever heard. And he sounds like one of the Cosby kids — just “bedee-bedee-bedee-bedee.” You can’t understand a damn thing he’s saying. You know? And he keeps repeating the same stuff and he’s not producing anything. And I don’t know what the hell’s going on up there at AKA, but you know, either get a new trainer or new training partners or sparring partners. You know, they’re all getting hurt. Geez, they gotta do something differently and be smart enough to protect their fighters or they’re all going to starve to death.”

The rematch between Jones and Cormier will go down at UFC 200 on July 9th, where the pair will fight for the undisputed light heavyweight championship.
